Other than the Michigan State and Pitt comebacks the sweet 16 games were pretty uneventful and boring.

Nice dominant win by UNC.

UConn was lethargic, but I never felt like they were in any danger of losing the game. It seemed like they knew they could coast and still win. Not a good thing in the tourney!!

I saw that most of west got nailed w/ snow. It is a pretty nice thing to be torn about. Skiing or Basketball.

Memphis was way over-rated in my opinion too. Last night was proof, b/c I don't even think Mizzou is that good either, but they are scrappy and got enough by surprise to get a good lead and hold on to it. I agree on Uconn being much better than Memphis but they looked lethargic last night. Overall though, last night's games, even the Pitt game, didn't seem that exciting. The worst part was that Krysewski (rat-face.. I can never spell his name) and Duke didn't even look like they wanted to be playing basketball any more. There weren't even any tears.

I think tonight's games are going to be way more exciting! I love Syracuse right now b/c they play fundamental basketball with a 'nuthin-to-lose' attitude! Louisville can't shoot free throws (something like 55% or similar) and that is a huge achilles for them in the tourney when almost all games are tight. I know I usually eat my words when I talk about a Tarheel game, but I think Gonzaga is like Memphis in that they get all the praise during the season until they step out of conference and demonstrate they haven't been challenged at all. They've got an uphill battle tonight, but are notorious for finding the energy and a way to win.

Man - I love this time of year too!! It's so hard for me b/c I always get torn between skiing and basketball and yesterday we had a 21" dumping that brought winter back into full swing. I skiied and missed the first half of the early games, but tonight, I will be glued to the TV!

Enjoy!

Ha, I guess I subconsciously skipped right over that post.

Tonight's game should be interesting.

Can Syracuse and Louisville win to make 5 of the final 8 from the Big East? I think Arizona may pull off the upset, I hope not, but they looked good in their first two games. Of course, Utah and Cleveland St are a little be easier of an opponent than Louisville.

I loved watching Duke and Memphis get spanked. Analysts loved talking about Memphis being such a great defensive team. They seem to forget that they are an amazing defensive team because they are playing against Conference USA competition. It looks like UConn did deserve the #1 over Memphis.

Yep - Pitt got lucky, this is their first time past the Sweet 16 despite being a powerhouse for several years. I already had my helping of crow though and don't forget that I changed my tune after watching the Big East tournament.

"Get ready for the Big East BOW-OUT!!!"

Any thoughts?

That stupid reporter should be asking about the other state employees who get paid thousands and thousands to sit around and do nothing. He is going after a guy who is overproductive. He gets paid as much as he does because he is an excellent, productive employee.

UConn must prove they can beat Pitt w/o Dyson before I believe they will make a deep run in the tourney.

Go Huskies!!

I liked the way he let the reporter have it. I'm not even sure if you can call that guy a reporter. They asked Roy Williams the same question the other day. He answered it a little more diplomatically, but gave the same impression. Hey, Roy didn't ask for a raise when he won the National Championship. Why should he take a paycut now? Besides, he's not paid with state funds if that really makes any difference.
